How to Join Our Union
Step 1 - Complete a Membership Application form. Return this form to any Interim Council Representative or you can scan it in and email it as a PDF file.
Step 2 - If you selected the automatic dues deduction payment option in your Membership Application, please complete a GAO Dues Deduction Form. We are recommending this dues payment option to save cost and time. To return
this form, follow the directions below:
  Headquarter Staff Options
Option 1) Print, sign, and scan your completed dues deduction form into a PDF file and email to Workforce Relations.

Option 2) Drop off your dues deduction form at the Human Capital receptionist desk near the G Street entrance.

Field Staff Options
Option 1) Print, sign, and scan your completed dues deduction form into a PDF file and email to Workforce Relations.

Option 2) Pouch your signed dues deduction form in a sealed GAO envelop to the Workforce Relations.

IFPTE Political Activities and the Independence of the GAO Employees Organization

The IFPTE recognizes that GAO employees are bound by standards of impartiality and non-partisanship in their official work for Congress. It is understood and agreed that in the event the IFPTE endorses political candidates or supports legislative or political positions, the GAO Employees Organization, IFPTE will abstain from all political endorsements and political actions and may elect to abstain from participating in legislative advocacy as it deems appropriate in the professional interests of GAO employees. It is also understood that such actions or activities by IFPTE are not on behalf of, nor representative of GAO Employees Organization, IFPTE, or the employees represented by GAO Employees Organization, IFPTE.
