GAO ANALYSTS COLA UPDATE
Congress Calls on CG Walker to Explain Denial of Employee COLA

In a strongly worded letter, nine Members of the House of Representatives called on GAO Comptroller General Walker to explain why he denied Cost-of-Living-Allowances to hundreds of GAO employees this year. The September 28, 2006 letter reminds Walker that he repeatedly assured the House Subcommittee on Civil Service and Agency Reform that GAO employees performing at a satisfactory level would "receive protection against erosion of purchasing power."

The Members strongly rebuke Walker for failing to follow through on his public comments and statements to the Subcommittee, and ask him to explain his decision denying the promised COLAs.
