Roles and Responsibilities

    Assembly

  • The legislative, policy-setting body of our union, comprised of Officers and Delegates.  Each Officer and Delegate has one vote on the Assembly.

    Officers

  • President
    • Primary representative of our union, responsible for ensuring compliance with union policies and bylaws, chairing the Assembly, and leading collective bargaining discussion and negotiations.
  • Vice President of Grievance & Dispute Resolution
    • Manages and coordinates of all grievances and disputes, trains delegates and stewards on the rules and laws related to grievances, and chairs the Grievance and Dispute Resolution Committee.
  • Vice President of Field
    • Primary liaison for field employees, and responsible for representing the interests of the field during negotiations.
  • Treasurer
    • Chief financial officer, responsible for tracking and recording all income and disbursements, managing the dues of members, and preparing budget and reports for the Assembly.
  • Secretary
    • Maintains all union records, including the management of membership records.

    Delegates

  • The “Congress” of our union.  Delegates propose and vote on internal policies and bylaws, while also serving their constituencies as elected representatives.
    • There are 35 Delegates seats that represent each Team and Field Office, PDP staff, Band I Analysts, Communication Analysts, and the following diversity groups: African American; Asian American; Hispanic; employees with disabilities; employee age 40 or greater; and Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender employees.
